Considering how this year has been going with Trump in office
and people protesting here and there, I wanted our club to highlight on a very sensitive topic that even creates hostility within women themselves. SLUT-SHAMING. Rape culture is a society or environment whose prevailing social attitudes have the effect of normalizing or trivializing sexual assault and abuse. We live in a world where many women are judged daily for every action they commit, regardless if it was about their sexuality or not and then we have women like Rihanna who do not give a hoot on who is paying attention because if they are, “Haters will say its Photoshop”.
Anyways, the point of this post was to include to an article that caught my attention initially but because Seventeen magazine did not post it up and ‘Snapchat’ saw it first, then I will include it later on. There is however another article that could fill you in on the elephant in the room, and maybe make it something we should focus on for the fall semester of 2017?
